Receiving a Perfect Gift

It was cheap at 69.75 PhP or roughly 1.57 USD. The tag price was not even removed, no fancy gift wraps, no card, not even a name written directly to the box “TO” and “FROM.”

But mind you it was given in advance. Yup, about 1 week before my birthday this small box was handed to me. (Would you believe that a self-proclaimed ghost [that’s me] still celebrate birthdays?!)

But still, I said… thank you.

The box was not even surprising. It was obvious. From the pic you can tell that it’s a mug! A mug… a coffee mug.

The box was cute and you can view the design of the ceramic mug from the “window” of the box. As if the mug was telling you, “Hey pick me, I have a preppy design!”

Turning the box around and you can see this very simple drawing:

My camera was really f*cked up. Look at the lines and the distortions in this pic. I wish it could have been better if the giver has bought me a digital cam instead of this mug. But anyway, open up! Open up!

Ooooh! The mouth as expected was big, and it was like a flower vase narrowed down at its base.

I picked it up, took it out from the box……

And:

It’s a medium sized mug. Brown background staggered with “Coffee” prints. I felt happy actually. More pics of the mug:

The gift-giver had just awarded me with another reason to take in more caffeine to my bloodstream. And I am thankful for that. I am a coffee addict to start with…. I love coffee, I need to take in as much caffeine as possible daily because of my work….. that is scaring little kids until I laugh my ass off <---wicked!

Anyway, I had second thoughts of the digital cam when I realized how important this gift was to me. First, I need a mug…. not because I drink coffee directly from a coffee maker pitcher, but I want it in a mug. I don’t like drinking it from a tiny cup, but from a mug.

Second, the design. It’s cute! Wink! Wink!

Third, of course… the thought of giving. Oh my, I got teary-eyed! IMHO, it’s not only the thought that counts…. It’s also how usable a gift should be, for it to be called a “perfect one.” This gift and I fit together to a "T."

But looking at the pics, they remind me of getting a new digital camera. So... next birthday gift please! Just kidding!
