Earthquake Day

I won't be elaborating the details here because it can be searched in the internet. To make it quick, today is "Earthquake Day" for my place. A Brazilian psychic predicted that today, July 18, 2008, an earthquake will happen in the country I am in.

According to the issue that has been spreading like AIDS in the internet, it will have a magnitude of 8.1. Geologists and experts in my country told time and time again that no one can predict an earthquake. Yes with any machines we can't really, but it was a prediction by a psychic. I am not saying that I exactly believe on psychic predictions. But I am trying to point out that the one who predicted was not a scientist but someone with the so-called 6th sense.

Okay, I will be counting the day starting now. If anything happens, it will be in the news. Whatever happens, I will be updating this blog entry. I don't want to be morbid, nor I don't want to be skeptic. I am just being fair.

1:07AM: nothing has moved on the ground yet
3:59AM: the earth is still
4:31AM: as I watched earthquake vids in Youtube, I thought it was starting, but no, it was just my palpitation
1:15PM: no earthquake
3:26PM: stationary floor
5:27PM: got exhausted singing, the trees outside strongly anchored, no ground movement
9:55PM: no sign of earth shaking
